Who we are
TBR Destroyer (“TBR Destroyer,” “we,” “us”) runs the website at tbrdestroyer.com and a daily email newsletter that surfaces discounted romantasy audiobooks and ebooks. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site or subscribe to the newsletter, how we use it, and the choices you have.
If you have any questions, email us at [email protected].
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you sign up for the newsletter, we collect the email address you submit through the signup form. Submitting the form is optional; you can browse the site without providing an email.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, our analytics provider (Google Analytics) automatically collects standard technical and usage information, which may include:
- Your IP address (typically truncated by Google before storage)
- Browser type and version, operating system, and device type
- Pages you view, the order you view them, and how long you stay
- The referring page or link that brought you to the site
- Approximate geographic location derived from your IP address
We do not knowingly collect any other personal information from visitors who do not subscribe.
How we use this information
We use the information we collect to:
- Send you the welcome email and the daily deals newsletter you signed up for
- Operate, maintain, and improve the website and the newsletter
- Understand which deals, posts, and pages our readers engage with
- Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and technical problems
- Comply with our legal obligations
We do not sell your email address. We do not rent or trade your information with anyone for their own marketing.
Service providers we share data with
We rely on a small number of third-party services to run the newsletter and the website. These providers process information on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy commitments:
- Resend — stores your subscriber record and delivers the welcome email and daily newsletter. See the Resend privacy policy.
- Google Analytics — collects aggregate site-usage statistics. See the Google privacy policy. You can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on to block this data collection.
- DigitalOcean — hosts the website and the subscribe API. See the DigitalOcean privacy policy.
- Amazon Associates — when you click a deal link to Amazon, Amazon sets its own cookies and may earn us an affiliate commission on qualifying purchases. Your interaction on Amazon is governed by the Amazon Privacy Notice.
Cookies and tracking
The website uses cookies set by Google Analytics to recognize returning visitors and measure aggregate traffic. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles about you. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; doing so will not break the site or the newsletter.
Affiliate links
Links to retailers in the newsletter and on the site may be affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, the retailer may pay us a commission at no extra cost to you. We disclose this on every page of the site and at the bottom of every email. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
How long we keep your information
We keep your email address in our subscriber list for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, your email is marked unsubscribed in Resend and is no longer used for sending. Google Analytics data is retained according to the retention period we configure in Google Analytics (default: 14 months for user- and event-level data).
Your choices
- Unsubscribe at any time. Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link in the footer, and Gmail and Apple Mail will surface a native unsubscribe button in the message header. You can also email [email protected] to be removed manually.
- Opt out of analytics. Use a browser-level Do Not Track signal, an ad/tracker blocker, or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on linked above.
- Email us. Write to [email protected] if you want us to access, correct, or delete the information we hold about you.
If you are in the EU, UK, or EEA (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent laws give you the following rights with respect to your personal data:
- The right to access the personal data we hold about you
- The right to request correction of inaccurate data
- The right to request deletion of your data
- The right to restrict or object to certain processing
- The right to data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- The right to withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
- The right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
Our lawful basis for processing your email address is your consent, given when you submit the signup form. Our lawful basis for processing analytics data is our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
If you are a California resident (CCPA/CPRA)
The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives California residents specific rights regarding personal information. In the past twelve months, the categories of personal information we have collected are:
- Identifiers: email address, IP address
- Internet or other electronic network activity information: pages visited, referring URLs, device and browser information
- Geolocation data: approximate location derived from IP address
We collect this information from you directly (email) and automatically through your interaction with the site (the rest). The purposes are described in “How we use this information” above.
As a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you
- Delete the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any other right, email [email protected].
Children
The site and the newsletter are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has subscribed, email us at [email protected] and we will delete the record.
International users
TBR Destroyer is operated from the United States, and our service providers process data in the United States and other countries. If you subscribe from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your jurisdiction.
Security
We rely on the security controls of our service providers (Resend, Google, DigitalOcean), use HTTPS across the site, and limit access to subscriber data to what is needed to operate the newsletter. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of the page. Material changes will be highlighted on the site or sent via the newsletter.
